Lester Levenson
Lester Levenson was rich, successful, very well educated, and admired by many women - but he was not happy, and he was suffering many physical ailments.
In 1952 he got a very grim message from a doctor - that he would die soon because of heart problems, and that the more he moved, the quicker he would die. He was advised to wear loafers from then on to not have to tie his shoes.
Some say the doctor gave him two more months, others say it was two weeks.
This message made Lester question all that he knew about himself and the world. He started to go through his entire past, letting go of his emotional baggage and ’squaring it all with Love’.
As he continued to do this he felt lighter and lighter and happier and happier, and all his physical ailments disappeared. His life got easier and easier and he felt more and more at home.
Despite what the doctor had said, he lived for around 40 more years.
During the introspection period triggered by the doctor’s message, he attained what is called enlightenment or spiritual freedom.
With some assistance, he later developed a technique called releasing, to attempt to replicate what he had gone through.
Sydney Banks
Sydney Banks, a Canadian philosopher and author, formulated what is now known as the "Three Principles".
The Three Principles propose that our reality is shaped by the interplay of Mind, Consciousness, and Thought. According to Banks, the mind is the universal source of intelligence, consciousness is the gift of awareness, and thought is the creative power that shapes our individual experiences. This foundations for this insight were laid in 1973, when Sydney and his wife were attending a marriage seminar. They were discouraged with the seminar and Syd went outside for a cigarette. At this point he met a therapist that was also attending the seminar and had a conversation with him. Banks described himself as "an insecure mess" at that time, and he began elaborating on all the ways in which he felt insecure. The therapist's response was a revelation to him: "I've never heard such nonsense in all my life. You're not insecure Syd, you just think you are." It led Sydney to a profound insight into the power of thought. In his own words:
‘What I heard was that there’s no such thing as insecurity, it’s only Thought. All my insecurity was only my own thoughts! It was like a bomb going off in my head …It was so enlightening! It was unbelievable … And after that, there was such beauty coming into my life’
Neville Goddard
Neville Goddard was a spiritual teacher, author, and lecturer who gained prominence for his teachings on the power of imagination and the concept of "conscious manifestation." Neville drew inspiration from various spiritual traditions, including Christianity and metaphysics.
Neville Goddard's central theme was the idea that the human imagination, when harnessed consciously, has the power to shape and create one's reality. He emphasized that our thoughts and mental images influence our experiences and circumstances, urging individuals to take responsibility for their inner states.
One of Neville's key teachings was the concept of living in the "feeling of the wish fulfilled." He encouraged people to cultivate the emotions and sensations they would experience if their desires were already fulfilled, suggesting that this mental state could bring about the manifestation of those desires in the physical world.
There are many others not mentioned here, that we are still very grateful to.
